Followers are vanity. Revenue is sanity. Here's the content strategy framework we use for clients who want real business results from social media.

The Follower Trap

Most businesses focus on the wrong metric. Follower count is visible, it feels like progress, and it's easy to compare to competitors. But followers don't pay rent.

The businesses that make money from social media focus on a different funnel: Reach → Trust → Action.

The Framework We Use

1. Define One Action Per Platform

Every post should ultimately point toward one outcome. For a service business, that's usually a DM, a link click, or a form submission. Define it per platform:

  • Instagram → DM for inquiries
  • LinkedIn → article comments → connection → call
  • TikTok → link in bio click

Don't try to do everything in every post.

2. Consistency Beats Virality

One viral post gets you a spike. A consistent posting schedule builds an audience. We recommend 4–5 posts per week minimum, with a mix of value content (80%) and promotional content (20%).

3. Content That Converts

The posts that drive action are usually:

  • Case studies and results (proof)
  • Behind-the-scenes process (trust)
  • Direct offers with a clear CTA (action)

Motivational quotes and generic industry news do not convert.

4. Track the Right Numbers

Track: link clicks, DM volume, profile visits, story replies, saves.

Don't obsess over: likes, follows, reach (as a standalone metric).

The Compound Effect

Social media ROI is rarely immediate. The businesses we've seen succeed invest in 3–6 months of consistent content before measuring revenue results. The content you publish today is searchable and reachable for months.
